Downloadable PDFS - how to name the files and where to save them

OVERVIEW

There are a number of different ways how downloadable PDFs can be named - but by default, we have some standards, but these can be changed to suit your specific needs.

FILE NAMES

The naming of PDF files is based on the product code and a suffix for the type of file. This allows our system to match the file name to the product code.

For example, if the product code is 123abc, the file name for data sheets would be "123abc_ds.pdf" and the file name for Safety Sheets would be "123abc_ss.pdf".

If the product code has special characters that are not compatible with file systems, such as " ' " or "/", these characters should be replaced with a hyphen ("-") in the file name. For example, if the product code is 123/abc, the file name should be "123-abc_ds.pdf".

If you prefer a different naming format, please inform our support team and we will accommodate your preferences. For example, "123abc_safety.pdf" could be used instead.

FILE LOCATION:

This can be anywhere on your local server (or if you're using a cloud accounting application - then we can link to your google drive) we just need you to advise us which folder file path to import the files from
